….what would you be. Well, my answer to my lad was the Gee-Bee. Agile, but short, stubby and inherently unstable! 😉
Anyone else?

RC-135U – showing up in strange places, with people never entirely sure what I do but most of the time thinking it’s important, being either grounded or flying high, being pretty exclusive and expensive to operate. And not too young any more, but that don’t matter since no-one can replace me.

I’ve always identified myself with the DH110 Sea Vixen. Here I am as a youthful hopeful future pilot, taken more than forty years ago with my Jetex powered model Sea Vixen. I’ve yet to achieve my ambition of flying a real one! (Note the Anderson shelter re-cycled as a coal store in the background).
Wow, did you live in a pre-fab, my aunt in Bullwell, Notts, lived in one of those and I used to love going round there when I was a kid, always had smelly coal fires that hung over the estate like thick smog, something to do with those wierd chimneys, didn’t they post date Anderson Shelters though.
Are there any pre-fabs still in habitation, can we have a pre-fab thread?
Sorry to digress, one for my missus:- Vulcan, large, intimidating and smokes a lot, bloody impressive though, and they do have grace and style.
Does that get me off the hook my love.

Hey, if my missus referred to me as a Graf Zeppelin I’d be quite proud..but I guess that was what you meant 😉
Mmm… if we’re thinking that way, the old Do17 “Flying Pencil” springs to mind. 🙂

That’s just crying out for a response, but I’ve chosen to ignore it. :p
Here’s a photo of Melvyn – a colourful character, famous and with plenty of vermillion.

I could be most aircraft … Largely ignored by women.

I’m not really a Spitfire MKIX in any way but to hell with it, I wanna be a Spit MKIX and therefore I am one!

Another STIRLING MAN,
Slow, lumbering, vertically challenged, always coming in third. But….. Dependable, solid and British. (eh, English) 🙂

Id have to be a Tornado, relativly young compared to most but old to a few.

Making children cry? :dev2:
Is that why women and children run screaming and crying when I’m around??
I notice no one is bold enough to claim they’re any kind of refueller… long hoses and flying booms. 😉

Ok . A Spitfire
Adored by all, beautiful to behold, cherished by the whole nation, worth a million dollars.
My therapist made me say that.
She said the Airspeed Fleet Shadower was butt ugly, conceived in error and achieved nothing whatsoever.

because I occupy more than my fair share of airspace, a little on the bulky side, can carry a significant payload although I’m not exceptionally fast. Dependable and adaptable, I’m ugly to some, and gorgeous to others, but whatever I have to do, I do well.

…snip… The missus would probably say Graf Zeppelin.

The Stealth already posted – you just didn’t see it.
Nah, that was the other bigger fat one that couldn’t get approval for any more funding ! :diablo:

Should be big, not too fast, unconventional yet occasionally overlooked, some missed potentials here and there, but rather interesting if you start thinking out-of-the-box. Repeatedly been declared obsolete and redundant, but definately still around.
And loud. Uneconomical. Occasionally looking very tatty. Leaving a trail of horrid fumes 🙂
And there are lots of people who think I’m a c*ck!
😀
Don’t be personal Dragons always smell like this

I like to think i am a Hurricane Mk1, Strong reliable gets the job done, Can take a bit of a beating, But always left in the shadow by a more good looking counterpart.
Think the wife see’s me as something a bit different she says i am carrying a bit of extra weight and sometimes a bit slow, Any suggestions?
How about a Polikarpov Po2? Grossly underpowered for its weight. 🙂

Eurofighter. Cause i’m sleek and able to pack a punch. But I spend too much, cost too much and have no idea what the word stealth means!
