Questions for Meteor Experts

In the following link
http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=73751&hl=gloster+meteor+nf14

Pictures 2 and 4 show little winglets? just behind the fuselage roundels are they an original fitting and what are they for?

Picture 4 also shows two what look like airscoops just in front of the belly tank what are they for and is it just the NF that has them?

I can’t say I have noticed them on any other Meteor.

As others correctly state the winglets are for some modern radio gimmick.

The twin scoops just ahead of the ventral tank are inlets for the refrigeration system which was only fitted to the NF13 for use in the Muddle East.

I think this particular airframe is a “bitza”, which was possibly originally made up to look like an NF13 of 39 sqdn.

Photo 2 winglets are modern day aerials probably for ILS approach/glideslope receivers. Photo 4 hazard a guess at cooling scoops for the airborne interception radar .

Your ‘winglets’ are aerials… and I’d hazard a guess that they are modern fit
The inlets, I would imagine (I’m not an expert on meteors) would be for either avionic cooling or fuel tank pressurisation, although I can’t find them on any other meteor except Classic Flight’s NF11
