Right I have a few questions regarding various air forces around the world.
Only 1 rule: No politicising!
1. Pakistan AF
I know Pakistan is acquiring roughly 62 F-16’s (36 C/D, 26 A/B). What aircraft will these F-16’s replace. I assume the A-5 but is this correct?
Also what aircraft will the JF-17 replace? Again is it safe to assume that the older model F-7’s will be replaced by this aircraft.
And finally what of the Mirage III/5? These are old aircraft but have been in some cases extensively upgraded. How long are they expected to continue in service?
2. Greek AF
The Greeks are also acquiring 30 F-16’s? Will these replace the A-7 or will they be used as attrition replacements?
Also any idea when the Greeks will sign on for their next generation fighter (widely expected to be the Eurofighter)?
3. Libyan AF
Libya has been quiet in the market for a long time, other than some An-74’s and A-109’s and the refurbishment of 16 MiG-21’s.
Now that the sanctions are gone, has there been any decent rumours regarding recapitalisation of the airforce or even upgrades to existing fighters such as the MiG-23 and Mirage F1?
Also are the 16 MiG-21’s aimed for Libyan squadron service or are they to be transferred to another user?
4. South Korean AF
The acquisition of 60 F-15K’s is designed to replace the F-4D. Will there also be any retirements of F-4E’s?
5. Zimbabwe AF
What is the status of this airforce? How many MiG-23’s were delivered from Libya or other sources?
6. Serb AF
Has the Serbian government announced any plans for the airforce following the departure of Monte Negro from the union? When are the Serb units pulling out of Montenegro?
