Would a fighter squadron based at Duxford (12 Group) be called upon to escort convoys at all?
I would look it up from the books but I’m at work – and the books are not!!
Might be a blatantly obvious answer, might not!!

Cannot see why not if they were at the show.

I mean can I post them in the airshow thread

I don’t see why you can’t post them here. I would like to see them anyway

Yes, that’s right but sometimes they fail to work. When that happens just left click on an empty space like the sky and you’ll find you’ve got them back again.

Hi there,
I use FSX, and use the “-” and “=” keys to zoom in and out…ensure though that you are in the VC and not fixed cockpit view.

This year’s programme is obviously going to be substanially reduced, as in recent years most of the ski charters have been operated by BA Regional/Citiexpress/Connect aircraft.
There is some slack in the present incarnation of that company, BA Cityflyer so I imagine there might be one or two operated by them from the regions.
Aside from those I assume the usual plethora of flights are to be operated from LGW with the 737 fleet. INN, GVA, SZG etc. Take a look at the LGW departure boards on a Saturday and Sunday and you’ll get a good idea of what is going on with BA and indeed other carriers operating to obviously ski related destinations.

609 sent a flight to Coltishall from DX to do convoy protection and patrols or some such thing. no time to look right now.

Obviously the Luftwaffe would have attempted to attack these convoys – would they have sent Me110s or ‘109s?
Sorry if this is really obvious!

Cheers for that W_P. Strangely, when I first looked it up under Google, nothing came up, but when I tried the second time, guess what??
Bloody internet! 😉

Sure – I would have thought they would have escorted convoys off the east coast and perhaps the thames estuary.
