Which famous American aircraft designer invented the dessert known as “Eskimo Pie” while recovering from the crash of one of his early designs on its first test flight?

OK, my source says it was Buck Weaver, the founder of WACO. Well done, RobAnt. I read it while searching for background information on the Reynolds Museum in Alberta, Canada, and hope soon to put up a major thread covering my visit there last August. The Aircraft is The Cootie, or Waco 1 (same thing). The brother’s name is Herb.

It wasnt Buck Weaver, it was his brother, so your question is a little misleading.
“Buck Weaver’s brother invented the ice cream treat called the Eskimo Pie.”

No, EN830, he was an American and his biplanes in particular became VERY famous, although they didn’t bear his name!
