Does anybody know how these two compare to one another? In the latest edition of AFM, a swedish pilot is quoted as saying that the AMRAAM is ‘almost’ as good as an Alamo-c, which is the predecessor of R-77. Does that mean the R-77 really out performs the AMRAAM? I know the ARCHER came as a big shock to the west. But if NATO pilots can’t establish the upper hand at BVR, then i guess anything is possible in a dogfight.
