R-Darter

Thanks to articles in Jane’s Defence Weekly, and Jane’s Intelligence Review, I can report that the R-Darter has officially been revealed by South Africa. It has been seen under the wing of a Cheeta-C, and will greatly enhance this aircraft’s combat effectiveness. R-Darter looks like an AIM-120C with the radome situated right in front of the forward fins (does that make sense?), and without cropped forward fins (but retaining cropped rear fins). R-Darter has also been integrated with the Saab Gripen, which has been purchased by South Africa, and Kentron hopes to sell the missile abroad as a Gripen weapon. No range data was available.
