As the title says. Passed away this morning, aged just 71.
Have fond memories of him in the 70’s in “Are you being served?” Was also a regular on Celebrity Squares.
Altogether now…”I’m freeeee….”

Just tinking about ” Are you being served ”, makes me smile. John Inman, played Mr Humphries character in the menswear department admirably.
Sadly, another great comic genius is no longer with us.
RIP

Ironic considering how we’ve been discussing comedians that one of the classics has joined the great panto and sitcom in the sky.
R.I.P. John Inman
Did you miss the other thread Arm Waver… ?

Nice chap. Gave my t’other half lots of tips and encouragement (she does AmDram and AmOp) when she met him at the Grand Theatre in Wolves on a Panto evening. I never met or spoke to him but Mrs Ivan says he was a real unpretencious gentleman unlike some of the other “celebrities” she encountered on the same night.
Encore John.

I worked with John on a BBC3 show named Revolver a few years ago. Out on location from 7am in darkest Govan*, John called halt to what had been a somewhat problematic production at 10am and insisted the entire cast and crew have a gin and tonic, to lift our spirits…:diablo:
Cheers John ! 😀
* A particularly colourful residential area on Glasgow’s south side, made famous in the tv show ‘Rab C Nesbitt’. Just try finding gin and tonic in Govan !
