R.I.P. Maximilian Schell

The robot in the film was called Maximilian. A coincidence or deliberate?

Yes it’s Max!!

He was in a lot of films but for me, a kid growing up in the 80’s, this is how I will remember him.

“there are old pilots and there are bold pilots but there are no, old, bold pilots!” – V.I.N.CENT.

Is that Maximilian or Seymour? i suspect Maximilian.

I am genuinely surprised because of his list of notable films over the past 20 years and his Oscar for Capote and three Oscar nominations. I would only say check him out and try to see his work.

Same here,never heard of Seymour Hoffman,i’m only 50 ,just hasn’t hit my radar.

Well his films have been around since the nineties and noughties, as well as more recently……..

They are not current by the time I get round to seeing them (in English!), except when I go to the States, I will be up to date for a week or two. 😉

I am in my seventies, but do watch current films…….do you not?

Sad news – he was indeed. A greater sadness is Philip Seymour Hoffman’s death from an overdose yesterday. Hugely talented and with half his career still to come.
