Hi all, one of my closest friends has recently discovered that his Grandfather (and G.Grandfather, he was a WW1 ace by the same name) was indeed R.W Oxspring. I was wondering if anyone has any information on him? He has just ordered the book Spitfire Command, written by him, to find out more but anymore things would be nice to know. Things like the aircraft he flew (Already know about X4170, the plane he used in the BoB), any photos of him atc.
Any help would be fantastic.
Thanks

Hi Olly,
Have you searched for him on Flight Archive? Quite a bit of info there.

One of the Spitfires (P7540) Bobby Oxspring flew in the Battle of Britain has recently gone on display at Dumfries & Galloway Aviation Museum. We have already welcomed some of his family to the museum to view it, and they were able to take a seat where their grandfather had sat when he fought in the battle.
