Is there anyone that can settle a bit of an argument that was the hot topic in the local last night.
For what ever reason No aircraft is allowed to land here that is bigger than the 757, but a bloke whos brother was a pilot says a 767 could land no problem. Would I be right in thinking that it could land but would not be able to take off again unless empty.
Or would the runway at rabil in any way stop it from taking bigger aircraft than the 757.

I wonder if these restrictions just apply to passenger carrying aircraft.
Maybe due to grade of fire service ?
Really dont know Alan, I was out there in June and had a look around
and I myself never seen anything bigger than a 757 land.
There was only room for two aircraft on the apron at anyone time usallyu a BAE146 and a 757 never two 757s and there was simply not room for them fropm what I could see.
On saying that there was work in progress on the apron area.
Could it be down to the weight on the runway of larger aircraft types, Although this ex pilot seems to think he could have got a 767 in and out no problem.
I did say to him would that be an empty 767 which would make his point pretty pointless but he didnt answer.
