Radial Engine ID ?

I am guessing this is an aircraft engine…..can anyone tell me what engine this is and what capacity / torque / power ??

Hmmmm…. you could only ride it the smoothest of roads though…. check out the ground clearance on the bottom rocker cover..!!:eek:

P.s in answer to the original query… it says ‘rotec’ on the rocker covers. Doh:p

It is a Rotec engine, google it and you’ll see all about. There is also a version of this bike with the engine mounted sideways. The engines are virually entirely built on CNC machinery, unlike Mr Webster’s radials which are meticulously put together with the most basic, and sometimes ancient, of tools. I talked to him many years ago when I wanted to build my own engines and was very impressed with what a guy with an idea and a couple of bloody big files can achieve.

I am a little puzzled. The builder has mounted it facing forwards which means has had to modify to take a drive out of the back of the crankcase.

Looks like some fine engineering though. A chap called Webster has been working for some time in the UK on a new-design radial using VW cylinders/pistons – saw it at PFA Rally a couple of years ago.
