Hi Forumites
Has anybody/Group attempted to “dig” for Mustang KH505 which crashed at Broxbourne in May 1946. The pilot was testing this aircraft when it dived at high speed into the ground and was deemed (at the time) to be too deep for recovery..

Squadron Leader Edward Bagley Gale, RCAF, buried at Brookwood Military Cemetery, 61 E 8. I’ve not seen any reference to a more recent recovery attempt at the site. It is certainly possible the heavy bits will have gone in a long way.

If the pilot’s body was not recovered there is no chance of getting the required permit.
