Hello,
I have a reference to a Pilot Officer (Pilot) being posted to ‘B.A.U. Africa’ with effect 23-12-42. Someone suggested that the abbreviation stood for ‘Bombing Analysis Unit’, but I am not so sure. Can anyone shed any light on this RAF/Military Unit for me please?

Interestingly it looks as if papers from the Bombing Analysis Unit are on file, and presumably available for examination, at the University of East Anglia.
