This is a bit of a long shot? I have a number of Meteor and Vampire teams between 1950 and 1961 that were involved in mid-air collisions. I have the details of the pilots involved in the accidents from Accident Record Cards, Form 540s, etc, but it is the names of the other team members that interest me. Can anyone please help?
The teams are:
19 April 1950: 1 Squadron two Meteors collided over Tangmere. Flt Lt Speller killed. Other pilot involved Pilot III D C Harkham.
15 September 1951: 63 Squadron two Meteors collided over Waterbeach. Fg Off R Pavey kiiled. Other pilot involved Fg Off L J B Smith.
27 August 1956: APS Sylt two Vampire T.11s collided. Pilots involved Flt Lt C Hunt and Fg Off B A L’Anson.
15 October 1959: 5 FTS two Vampire T.11s collided over Oakington. Pilots involved Flt Sgts H W Gibson and R G Gregory.
24 March 1961: 8 FTS Vampire T.11s collided over Swinderby. Sqn Ldr L A Boyer and Flt Lt M T Chapman.
