Raf Air Sea Rescue WW2

is there anyone on this web site who was in the raf air sea rescue in ww2
out in Alexandria / port said in 1940-1945 on the high speed launches i am trying to find out what it was like then, my dad was there from1940-1945
he was ag wo hsl 2520 hsl2604 he died a few years ago ,i have some pictures of him on hsl 2604in port said in 1943 with the rest of the crew and one taken in 1941, He was in ASRU 208 in Alexandria

Ian, Have you been in contact with the Norfolk and Suffolk Air Museum?

They have quite a large display on RAF air-sea rescue if I remember rightly. They may be able to put you in touch with others from that time?

Hi Holly2001,

Im obviously 9 year late in replying to your original mail. My father was based in Alexandria in the same period os your father and they probably knew each other. My father is luckily still ilave (just turned 88). I will ask him if he remembered your father and get back in touch. My Dad was a first engineer on a marine tender. He say it was the est time of hs life!!
