RAF Bomber Command Memorial Fund Wristbands.

Raising funds for the RAF Bomber Command Memorial in London Green park

Hello I’d like to mention that Barrie (ex army Air Corps Beaver Sgt Pilot ) and I (ex RAF) have been working on a project since October last year to raise funds for the RAF Bomber Command Memorial Fund. We have had wristbands made (see photo) and are offering one free to anyone who donates 2 pounds or more to our project (2 Euros or more if you live in a Euro zone). Our first public action was with a stall at the Robin Gibb concert in Amsterdam. It was a great success.
See also the link to MoD Oracle it has a lot more infomation about the cause.

http://www.modoracle.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=13838

For anyone who is interested we have a Gmail account at a webmail site for them to get further info from us and give us their details for posting.
Our Gmail address is:bombercommandnl @ gmail.com
(take the spaces out to use).

It is time to have a memorial to the 55.573 young men who died to keep our freedom. Average age 22, some as young as 17. Our wristbands will help spread the word to support the fund. mail us if you would like one ?

Below is how the wristbands look.

I’d like two please, can’t believe I was in Lincs last weekend and drove past the Petwood etc.

Have you approached Andrew and Louise at East Kirkby? I’m there for EK43 at the end of may-I know they did their own wristbands for Just Jane but might be worth asking.

I’ve just got mine thru the post. Barrie was most helpful and I mailed him the monies direct and he mailed the bracelets to me here in the USA. Some of the bank fees to send/receive money were expensive so I just mailed him good old fashioned cash. They are worth the effort and it’s for an excellent cause.

The wristbands are also at the Battle of Brittain Memoral Caple le Fern near Folkstone.

They took deivery of some while I was in the UK and just befor I became sick.
And when I say sick its bad real bad I have a Chemo resistant cancer but i wil stil try when I can to keep my finger on the pulse with them.
The man that helps me Barrie is a few years older and he he does not think as fast as me so I am one step ahead of him LOL.

I heard that the foundation stone will be laid on the 12 May VE day and the opening shold be for VE day 2012 if I head it correct. So if you are in London and in green park you should after the wedding be able to see how its progressing.
Photos would be nice also for those that are not in London.

Lovely. I must return to that quite frequently until our airshow season starts. The Lancaster always sounds different to four Merlin powered fighters flying together and the sound always makes me shudder though I have no idea why.

This after noon I received this email from Charlotte at Visit Lincolnshire.

We would like to thank Charlotte and all the people that have have done this
for us.
More so to Charlotte because from March she will have to find other employment due to lack of funding.

I wish her all the best in what ever the future holds.

Afternoon Charles,
Just a short email to let you know we have highlighted the wrist band sales on the official aviation website for Lincolnshire. We have also written a blog entry and have placed a news article on the website.
I thought you would like to know for your evaluation.
