In a couple of weeks time we shall see the demise of Coltishall as a front line base.
Last March, when a couple of the squadrons were disbanded, we were treated to an excellent all round flying display and flypasts.
Despite my sniffing about however, I can’t find out what’s going to happen in 2 weeks time, the official RAF Coltishall website doesn’t seem to have been updated for months.
Somebody on here must know something, after all these years of standing at the end of the runway, I would like to be present at the end of an era, so what and when folks, any idea.

Not exactly sure of the time but I think it’s about 1 to 2 p.m.
Don’t rely on me though!
I believe it is one pass as a 16 ship and then another pass in two elements.

Cheers for that, I just realised that it was a year ago today that the disbandenment took place of the other 2 squadrons, same sort of weather too, freezing cold with the threat of snow.
A 16 ship take off with probably a couple of reserves will be a fitting finale, I’ll have to find the ear defenders for that.
Only other questions are, is anything happening on the last official day, March 31st and does anyone know the proposed time of the flypast, I remember that the Phantom farewell lasted several days, though I acknowledge that the Jaguar isn’t quite finished yet.

There is set to be a sixteen Jaguar flypast on the 1st April, possible practice next week.
