RAF Dallachy RAF personnels tag found

friend found this on my dallachy field permission which is 100% ww2. anyone any info on this? is that 458 squadron? as in the australian raf that flew wellingtons? were they ever stationed in morayshire? any idea how I can trace this hutchinson guy down? cheers

Brilliant to see those pics thanks. The licence holder for the airfiled was not even informed that wind turbines were to be erected adjacent to the runway, another example of the estates attitude.

As scotavia says, it was very sad for Banff Flying Club after the work they put in. The tower was looking really good. In 1976 Neil Williams flew Mosquito RS712 north from Strathallan to the event at which Max Aitken declared the Club officially open.

The major factor in the abscence of light aircraft from present day Banff was the attitude of Seafield estates ,they demanded a rental far above the income that the club had from a small membership.Sadly this happened after club members had restored the tower and added a power supply.

I would say 458 might be his last three.

Officers do not have letters in their numbers, not sure about back then, there is a wing commander of that name mentioned here

387990 looks like a service number – maybe a tool tag?
