RAF & F-111

I suppose this is OK in the Modern Military Aviation section ?
Maybe it should now be historic ?

After reading the thread about the last RAAF F-111 to fly, ending up at it’s final resting place,
I was wondering what would have happened if the RAF had been supplied with this aircraft,
rather than the Phantom ?

Political issues aside, what sort of service life might it have had ?

Somehow I doubt it would have managed the 37yrs the RAAF operated it for.
