I am seeking out a listing (if there is one!) of RAF Fighter Command Call Signs from the Battle of Britain. Aside from the listing in “Battle of Britain Then & Now” I have not seen any published list nor anything at Kew. Is there one? AHB have nothing. Or can anyone fill in the call signs for the following squadrons:
3, 23, 29, 43, 65, 219, 238, 245, 247, 263, 264, 266, 504, 600, 604, 235, 236, 248 and FIU, 421 & 422 Flights.

I have a few post-1940 call signs that I have not been able to verify as correct for 10 July to 31 October 1940, but I will add ‘PLATER’ to that unconfirmed list.

Hello Andy
I have some combat reports for 264 Sqn when the unit was at Biggin Hill between 11/1/41 and 14/4/41. During this period the radio call sign was ‘Plater’ but unfortunately can’t confirm if this was also used in the Battle of Britain

Hi Andy,
I am also interested in a definitive list, if such a thing exists!
For 263 Squadron, the ORB notes on 01 Nov 40, “R.T. Call Sign changed to “Cosy”. Green and Red sections at readiness.” That’s as close as I can get.
I have a few other bits and bobs about callsigns for them, but it is much later (’42 onwards)
