Well, research indicates articles of interest in this magazine – issues for March and April 1957 – on 609 (West Riding) Squadron.
The problem is, its WAY out of print. My usual sources are for books, though a few of these are listed (just not the issues I require!). Does anybody out there have a copy I could either purchase, borrow, swap, steal, or get photocopies / scans from please? I am, as many of you know, a 609 Squadron ‘buff’ (NOT in the way of describing a B52!)
So, anyone have it, and willing to share? I have undying gratitude to share…..!
Thanks,
Mark.

RE: RAF Flying Review Magazines
Just had a look through some of my RAFFR’s from 50/60’s not your date alas. When I last went to the Aviation Museum at Bungay, Suffolk in October, there were hundreds of these magazines at 10p each. Don’t think the museum is open in the winter months but it is full of nostalgia and in all probability you might find this sort of thing there. Shuttleworth (Beds) open days have these collectors by the dozen but again not (as far as I know) in the winter months! Wish you luck with your quest and whilst on the subject if anyone comes up with a FR or Aeroplane mag from April/May/June/July 1960 with an article on Handley Page Hastings TG579, I sure would be interested, thanks.

RE: RAF Flying Review Magazines
Snapper, I’ve been digging in my library. Do you have a copy of “Fighting Church Fenton” by P.D.Mason? In it there are a couple of articles about 609 including an intelligence combat report dated 8 May 1941. The ISBN No.is 0 9513645 0 2.

RE: RAF Flying Review Magazines
Good idea! Doubtful they would have it in my local one though – portacabins. Good idea though. I saw two on ebay in the states – 1 of each, but the price was excessive, and no time to query postage costs.
Anyone going aerojumbling soon? LOL.

RE: RAF Flying Review Magazines
Hi Snapper – This brings back memories. When I was a wee ATC Cadet, RAF Flying Review was standard issue to ATC Sqns, along with the Recognition Journal. Every squadron had cupboards full of the things. Have you tried contacting the ATC Squadrons in your area? Perhaps there is a squadron with a library going back that far or even further.
