Please excuse this being my first post on this forum, I’ve been a long time lurker and a regular poster over at AiX.
I have been trying to talk with the landowner and / or the tenant farmer of the former RAF Harrington, Northamptonshire. Some of you will know that the Thor missile remains at this site have been awarded Grade II listing, however this does nothing to prevent further decay. The landowner is obliged to keep them in their current state and prevent continued attrition but if they don’t there is little that can be done until it’s too late.
After two years of trying and getting no response, I have decided to mount a facebook campaign and get as many ‘likes’ as I can to demonstrate that there is significant desire amongst the public at large to preserve the site for future generations. Once we have ‘critical mass’ (pun sort of intended) I can then go to the local press and give them a story, all adding to the pressure on the landowner to just talk!
I have the support of the local museum, the parish and district councils, local residents, published authors and of course English Heritage, so hopefully this will eventually be taken seriously.

I’d appreciate it if you’d click the link, give it a like if you want to and show your support and concern for this site.
Apologies if this post contravenes forum rules, let me know and I’ll remedy / remove; I only have the best intentions.
Thank you.

Good suggestion. The owner is Merton College and therefore I can’t just turn up and speak to them. I’m trying all sorts of methods to contact various people in their organisation that may help, but after an initial response, nothing.
The tenant is obviously closer to home, I have made the courtesy of writing to him and asking someone that knows him to contact me in his own time on his own terms. I don’t particularly want to doorstep a bloke that has been up since 4am.
I’ve been trying for two years to make contact and I’m bored of being ignored. I’ve been polite and totally understanding that if after we do have a half hour chat and the answer is ‘no’, then that is it.
I have no other way of applying a little pressure to get some dialogue going.
