Any ideas what was taking place at RAF Henlow on Saturday?. My assumption is that there was some UAS event/re-union. Early in the day 3 Grob Tutors arrived in formation and landed, then a Chipmink, Tiger Moth, Harvard and Yak 52 arrived and landed. Throughout the day various formations of these types flew, using I suspect the Yak as the photoship. Looking at the historic trainers, all these types were used by UAS over the past 60 years or so hence my assuptions.

My mate Sandy Bole was flying the Bulldog. He’s given permission for me to post these two pics, which are his copyright. It gives a flavour of the occasion. Apparently it was ‘interesting’ trying to keep in formation with the Tiggie!

YR thanks to your mate for the pics, any chance of an id on the Harvard. Again many thanks, Len Harvey

I fear English is not his first language………
Re. the “police chopper” this is now based at Henlow (it’s moved in from Luton) so it is seen a lot these days. It went up at least 6 times Saturday.

Wow, thanks for sharing those pictures, please thank your friend. I live very close to the end of the landing runway so had some great views of the airplanes from below.

Henlow had been a trive of activity. The Police chopper was up at least once Friday night and i saw so much over my house Saturday.
Don’t you mean a hive of activity? An event for ULAS apparently. See below.

Henlow is home to 616 VGS. The event may well have been related to them.
