RAF jet downed by USA?

According to Dutch TV aswell as the BBC, a RAF jet is missing after the machine was “most probably” shot down by an American Patriot missile.

maybe the jet forgot his iff, its the mostl made mistake by returning pilots. forgot their IFF and where shot down because they replied wrongly on interegation or other problems.
