RAF Jet Trainer Crash in January 1964

I wonder if anyone knows more about this accident, reported in The Press newspaper (Christchurch, New Zealand) on the 6th of January 1964?

What was the aircraft type?

Did F/Lt Sceats survive?

Did Silk survive?

Was he in the RAF, or was he RNZAF and on exchange?

What was the cause?

Entry from Category Five by Colin Cummings says: “03 Jan 64, XR698 Jet Provost T4, 3 FTS, RAF Leeming. The crew took off on a general handling and instrument flying sortie and after climbing ahead to 700 feet, the student pilot turned the aircraft onto the climbing lane. At this point the instructor closed the throttle and told the student to carry out a forced landing on the airfield. The student turned the aircraft to port but was too close for a good approach to the intended runway and so began a glide circuit with the intention of landing on runway 30. He failed to turn finals onto this runway because he could not see it well in the poor visibility and so continued to runway 22. Unfortunately, by the time he turned in to this runway, the aircraft was low and slow and the turn was made too steeply. With the wheels and flaps still up, the aircraft stalled and the instructor took control but was unable to prevent the aircraft landing on its belly on an old dispersal and skidded 400 yards across the airfield”

The statement was made that there were no casualties
