Hi HP111,

Yes, we do too! Might be able to use a Routemaster at a pinch (maybe)…..!?

I hope your vintage bus can cope with the steep hill from Whyteleafe Station to Kenley!

In relation to your traffic management & on-site/field parking question – I’m also currently in talks with “Southern Railways” regarding the use of Whytleafe Station (which is less than 1 mile from Kenley Airfield) so that airshow goers can access the event by public transport. In connection with this, we are also looking at the possibility of laying on a vintage 1930’s bus to transport people from the station to the airfield – which should be a FREE service? All of this will, hopefully, assist us in minimising any “potential” traffic issues in the local area.

There is plenty of parking ON the airfield and traffic management arrangements are in place in conjunction with the LA and Police.

What are the travel, parking arrangements? Is it park on field?
Kenley is a little restricted, position and road wise. Just wondering how it’s going to be managed.

Happy days! No need for the usual silly o’clock in the morning start when travelling to the other popular venues… a nice leisurely 15 minute walk up the road instead 🙂 Lets just hope and prey that the weather gods are smiling for that weekend…

Cheers
Pete

About time I returned to Kenley and this seems the ideal opportunity

Yes, I believe so!

My understanding is that the ‘jumblers’ can stay on and ‘jumble’ on the Sunday if they so wish.

I will come back with confirmation.

Including an aerojumble on Saturday, eh?

Will Saturday ‘jumblers be allowed to stay over to watch the flying on Sunday, do you think?
