A few months ago, it was agreed that it would be a good idea to save the DH Comet currently on display at RAF Lyneham. Is there any news on what’s happening and whose doing what?

The Gatwick Comet was scrapped, along with the Trident in about August/September this year.
The nose section of G-AMXA moved to Skysport about 2 weeks ago for temporary storage.

Comets
While on the subject of Comets and I apologise for being behind the times does anyone know what was the fate of the Comet on Gatwicks apron and the fate of the Comet Cockpit on the viewing balcony?

..it was on the local radio that Lyneham would remain open until the C-130K is retired, and not in 2012 as planned, so that only the C-130Js will move over to Brize.

As RAF Lyneham’s closure has been postponed from 2012, I presume it will remain there?
Where did you hear this…?
