RAF main gate airfield signs

Obviously when an RAF Station closes the main gate sign must go somewhere, surely not on the scrapheap. I think an approach to the RAF Museum might be more productive ?

I can only offer an anecdote. 

Back in the 1990s I bought such a sign, from Binbrook’s main gate at an aerojumble.  I was informed that it had been “souvenired” when the station closed.

I can’t add much more.  I applied what I considered to be a reasonable price increase and it sold off my stall within minutes.  I think I mis-underestimated the “Lightning effect”!
