Just a heads up for those in NW England on 6th/7th August. If you need an excuse to come and visit the museum then this is it. Not only will the museum and it’s exhibits be on show but there will be several air displays as well. Including Mustang ‘Susy’ doing simulated straffing runs with pyros on the former airfield site as well as the Red Devils dropping in on Sunday. Other displays will hopefully include the RNHF Sea Fury (Sat Only) and the Hawker Hunter ‘Miss Demeanour’. The organisers are hopeful of attracting other displays and are in negotiation with the RAF for some flyby’s. More info when i hear about it or check the link for updates

No 800 re-enactors are not taking place in the battle, actually about 50-60. But we are expecting up to 800 re-enactors/living history types etc to attend.
Was the article in the local newspapers you saw

Mark,
Just read that the battle will involve around 800 reinactor’s is this true or a mis-print, as it will be well impressive if it is.
Cheers
Chris

So is the Mustang on Sunday only?
The Mustang is displaying both days, but will only be doing the straffing runs on the Sunday as this is the day of the Allied counter attack

It has been confirmed today by Tony Smith that the P-51 will be doing two runs over the battle re-enactment on Sunday, the 1st will be a straffing run, the 2nd will be a bombing run. Should look and sound good.
