RAF Museum Beaufighter fuselage

Does anyone have any speculations as to the origins of the unmarked Beau forward fuselage skeleton owned by the RAF Museum?

I always thought that it belonged to the RAF Museum and was just on long term loan.

The East Fortune Beaufighter was bought with funds raised in a public appeal, which makes its present state a bit unfortunate.

Begs the question

What’s happening (or not) with the East Fortune one?
