Had a day out at the RAF Cosford Museum today, and it was a very nice and chilled out day. Plenty of interesting stuff to see and lots of changes since my last visit a few years back.
Having a good close up look at the outdoor stuff was nice, and so was the look inside the Vulcan B1 cockpit.
Nice to get a good look at the Lincoln and the German and Japanese stuff, oh and the art gallery is most impressive and worth a look around. There are TV’s around the museum showing various DVDs and the British Airways one is particularly nice.
Also got to see some Jet Provost’s doing short taxi runs, these were on the main airfield, they are used for training ground support staff etc.

Whilst googling last week, I came across a webpage featuring a lady by the name of ‘Barby’ displaying her chest at various locations around the museum at Cosford 😮 Now, does anyone on here have a ‘significant other’ by the name of ‘Barby’??? 😀 I would post a link to the page in question, but given the nature of the photos I’d better not :diablo:
Those of a ‘curious’ nature can PM me for the link 😀

I think you’ll find the “BAC 188” is actually a Bristol 188, the only pure jet aircraft Bristol ever built.

Hi jeepman, I know about the landmark building and that the construction work is for that project, what I meant is I have no idea what they were doing from a technical point of view, as I have sod all knowledge of building and construction practices etc.
Thanks for pointing out what the “drone” is, nice website by the way.

Thanks Bograt and TMN, plenty of building work was taking place, however I ain’t got a clue about what exactly they were doing.
They’re building the next RAFM “Landmark” building – the Cold War triangular thingy – must be large to swallow a complete set of 3 V Bombers, Hastings, Belfast, York, numerous fighters etc etc
and the drone is a bit more than that – actually an experimental WW2 German Enzian missile – can’t remember if it’s surface to air or air to surface but it was based on the Me163 IIRC

Stewart1a, you noticed I posted the Lincoln photo twice then, but I got it changed nice and quick.

Thanks for posting the pic’s of my ‘local’, andrewman.
Haven’t been myself since beginning of January, have they started work on the footings for the new building? (On the land between hangar 1 and the Vulcan)

Excellent stuff! That’s whetted my appetite – Mrs.B has planned a long weekend in Shropshire later this month and a condition of the trip was a visit to Cosford – one place I have never managed to vist until now.
