RAF Museum Midlands?

On the subject of Cosford (or Midlands or whatever they identify as now) does anyone have an email address or phone number for one of the high-ups they could share? I’m trying to arrange something for my father, I’m an ex RAF Rigger who learned my trade at Cosford and volunteered at the museum during my trade training, but my very simple request was met with a rather curse and utterly unsympathetic response from a customer service supervisor. I NEVER use my “veteran” status for anything, but this time I genuinely feel let down when hoping it might count for something to help with my father’s mental well-being. I figure it’s worth a shot appealing to the better nature of a curator or director or the like. One can hope! 

Wrt Scottish Airports – when I was a lad the local airports were Abottsinch and Prestwick. Now both called Glasgow airports despite one being in Paisley and one in Ayrshire.

Well, at least one can hope that the Scots are not so daft as to come up with London Kirkwall. But maybe London St. Mary’s is not beyond the bounds of possibility?

Kidlington has been London Oxford for at least 20 years. They reckon that you can get to London faster than from Gatwick, which Ican well believe.

I’d noticed Kidlington’s name change from signs from the A34. I think Lydd is now London Lydd too.

We never got London Finningley but if it hadn’t closed it wouldn’t have surprised me.

Rebranding is a modern disease. Kidlington Airfield near Oxford is now “London Oxford Airport”. How stupid is that!

My local airfield, the former H.M.S. Daedalus  at Lee-On-The-Solent is now “Solent Airport, Daedalus”. Not long before the Daedalus part of the name is quietly dropped I suspect. To us locals, it will always be Lee airfield or just Daedalus.

I wonder how many tens of thousands that cost, just because some jobsworth had a “brilliant” idea.
