RAF Prob blade ID

Found this blade tip in an antique shop recently. The label states it was from a “German” plane shot down near Whitley. Clearly its not German. Wooden with Brass leading edge. Unusual that the tip is only Yellow on one side? I have shown my Hurricane tip for scale. Hope someone can help? Thanks.

Thanks Pete.

Can anybody add anything else or narrow it down a bit? Is it not strange to be yellow tipped on only one side??

Thanks again

You need numbers to ID these things.
the rotation is correct for a Merlin-engined aircraft.
I wonder if the confusion is in the “Whitley” part, they had Rotol propellers, which is what this is, they had metal blades, but I believe some had wooden blades, so Whitley could be the type of a/c?
