OMG – went past there 2 weeks ago and noticed a few buildings had tiles missing – what a sad mess.
Another great MOD land sell off for a knock down price and promises.

Its south camp that is being demolished. North camp was sold off in the 1960’s. East camp is occupied by the Defence Support Agency who took over from DARA who had tried to run the old 30MU. Some building work is taking place on east camp but south camp is dissapearing!

I knew that the hangars were now warehousing/factory units (I used to visit Witter Towbars every week), but that’s sad to see.
I did an ATC summer camp there in 1979 I think.

Went for a walk around there with Anon at the weekend.
Picture of what was left of the officers mess as of Sunday. What you cant see is the missing roof and destruction round the back. Though suspect it has all gone now given the pace of work…. 🙁
