Rather interesting piece and Bruce comes across as a rather nice down to earth chap.

No, it’s all at twin peaks, he’s standing on the (long) disused runway.

Before we all get carried away (like Bruce clearly has in the vid!), the equipment is loaned across from the Welsh Government (via now vacated DSG) and remains on site as part of the hangar itself, it will benefit the new tennants, Cardiff Aviation, as well as other companies on site – all part of a new enterprise zone initiative.
Also this has very little to do with historic aviation!

And the difference is that MOD are definately not commercially minded in any way, shape or form.
More than a few years ago I myself bought 2 Rolling toolkits and a topbox for DM100 that contained about £1000 worth of tools. I saw a £6m Harrier PCU testing kit sold off for another DM100 (the buyer wanted the cabinet!)
The fact that they actually left the electrical plugs on amazes me.

I think that is disgusting, that equipment should have been sold off when the site closed, tax payers bought that and for it to be ” gifted” is criminal…. When the likes of BAe closed down Woodford, they auctioned the lot of to maximise their return on the place… The MOD needs to do the same… 😡
