Mods – wasn’t entirely sure under what section to post this, as there are many ex-RAF in non-aviation roles?
To those amongst this forum’s membership who are ex-RAF and made their first steps via RAF Swinderby…
There is the possibilty of a reunion taking place utilising a campsite adjacent to the airfield site at what remains of Swinderby. Only just in the planning stages at the moment – and heavily reliant on using Social Networking and other internet resources to spread the word. Lots of hurdles to overcome as you can imagine – given the many thousands that passed through there over the years, but no-one has ever attempted it before to my knowledge?
What kind of interest might there be amongst those here?

I’m now hearing that Witham St Hughs Parish Council is now also getting involved with another ‘reunion style’ event on August 21st – I’ve put them in contact with Aviation Heritage Lincolnshire!

I missed this thread before – were you aware of this ceremony in early May?
The Association’s AGM is slated for Newark Air Museum on 4th September 2011. 🙂

many thanks for that. i may well attend as it might be the first and last time it will happen around the old camp. i was there 1990 under the care of a ginger waaf cpl (nasty) Newman 5 flt, getting beasted by the instructors/regiment and the like.
