RAF Tornado GR4 Deployment

I was listening to the news the other day on the radio and it said that a GR4 squadron from lossiemouth was getting ready to deploy to afghanistan to replace the current people out there. Is this just a case of bad reporting or has the UK decided to deploy the whole squadron instead of the previous 10 aircraft from a squadron. I think there are 12 aircraft in the squadron’s so this is an upgrade of 2.
The way the person was talking made it sound like the aircraft were going over as well. I’m not sure of this will be happening as it is probably easier to keep the aircraft that are already there.

Here is a link to story about the Tornado and the weapon of choice in Afghanistan the Paveway IV. It seems like the tornado’s fly with these and mostly Brimstone’s in afghanistan missions.

In a seperate issue there is a story about how the Tornado F3 has been voted the best RAF fighter of all time. It norrowly beat the Phantom. I’m not sure if would of picked the F3 it’s more of an interceptor i thought. I last thing does anyone have any pictures of RAF tornado flying with RAF Phantoms?
