RAF Uxbridge BoB Memorial and Hurricane P3091

Yesterdays memorial service took place along with a flypast of a Spitfire and Hurricane. Hurricane P3091 is a new addition to the BoB museum here and still awaiting delivery of the Spitfire. The Spitfire is the old RAF Uxbridge gate guard BR600, it is currently being refurbished from a Mk IX to either a MK I or II to reflect the Mk flown during the BoB. Apologies for the pics not much use with the camera!

That looks like the little car park just opposite “the hole”. Am I right?

If so, is this area going to be fenced off with a perimeter? And how is it going to be secured in the middle of what might become a housing estate?

Just curious!

yea its just opposite the entrance to the bunker. The museum is going to be secured/fenced off by march next year when Uxbridge is handed over from the MOD.

Housing estate? Who knows! Most buildings of WWII era are now listed and cannot be knocked down and also no green areas are allowed to be built on.

These signs have also appeared lately that may suggest a few hold ups!
