The YouTube photo slideshow although 2011 gives a good idea of what Wethersfield is like today and takes you to places not normally seen. The red Quonset Hut ( Nissen Hut ) next to the Chapel may be the new home of the Museum from May. I have written a 26 page Brief History of the Base for sale to fund the Museum, I won’t advertise on here without permission though. Well not post a link to it anyway 🙂
Enjoy these photos and ask any questions about RAF Wethersfield and I will answer.

Wyvernfan the museum is up and running albeit is only 2 rooms at the moment, the collection outgrew this and more items arrive from the USA every few weeks.
The Museum will move to a dedicated Building suited for the task in April/May
It is possible to visit, by appointment only through me. It requires my being available to escort and host visitors.

Interesting collection of photo’s although the pair of F-100’s 63204 and 52805 on page 11 look out of place – as their both assigned to the 48TFW at Lakenheath!

Thanks. Seen some of those before but some are new.
What’s the latest on the museum that’s destined for there?

Wyvernfan 8 pages of photos on this site, a good collection in one place, they poster has taken them from all over the Internet and that upsets some but none the less a good collection and some great F100 photos that will be going on the museum wall.

Lovely film, and another airfield site just crying out for a museum and some preservation before it’s too late.
Having a personal liking for the F-100 it’s great to see the Quonset shelters, aircrew buildings and part of the runway barrier still in place, and that runway still looks in superb condition.
