I’m looking for photo’s of aircraft that made emergency landings at Woodbridge for a display i’m creating in the Bentwaters Cold War Museum for the coming season.
If anyone is able to help i would be really grateful.

Woodbridge
Andy, The museum has a display about the Ju88 including a very good 1/72 scale model and the usually published photo of it, but if you have some other less seen images of it that you could let us have that will be great.
Hi Graham
I’ve only just found this thread, via Google, so sorry that I’m a bit late to the party.
For a couple of years now I’ve been doing some research on a/c ‘arrivals’ at Woodbridge, 1943-45 (about 1,600 identified so far), and would be pleased to help if I can. I’ve got pics of some extra photos of the Ju 88 from a file at Kew which you might not have seen, and would be happy to send copies to you.
Contact me on ian.hunt29 [AT] btinternet.com if you’re interested.
Regards
Ian

How about the photos of USAAF aircraft testing the FIDO installation at Woodbridge. Available free on the Fold 3 website.

Funnily enough, just been writing about the Ju 88 that landed there on 13 July 1944. That probably doesn’t count – but I have images.

Expect you may already know but there is a picture of DV277 in ‘Lancaster At War 3’ taken during winter 1943-44 when she was coded as PO-L.

My Grandfather landed at Woodbridge on June 6th 44 (D-Day) after an operation to Argentan, the aircraft was hit by flak and returned on 3 engines. The starboard tyre burst when they landed and the aircraft ended up ground looping. They were in Lancaster DV277 “W” which i found a picture of not so long ago, its not from the actual landing at Woodbridge though.
