They could stick on the top of that artistic monstrosity by the main entrance, its been crying out to be used a pole to mount an aircraft on since it was errected.

I think the F35 should go to the FAA museum ??As its a Naval effort!!

James – Dont forget XD818 when she arrived at cosford, was left outside, uncovered and half assembled for quite some time… 😎

Personally I feel that the Milestones of Flight box can be ticked by having a Meteor, ie any Meteor, such as the F.8 that is (was?) at Hendon.
DG202 just fits so well at Cosford and the prototype/development aircraft theme.
Don’t forget the Ki100 came from Cosford anyway.

On another note, and possibly quite naively of me, I’m surprised at how some of these rare airframes are moved about, ratchet strapped to an uncovered trailer just seems too exposed. Hey ho.

It gets stranger and stranger maybe the meteor was moved to make way for the EAP but it seems an odd trade.

Maybe the KI100 is better at Cosford but moving it to make way for another replica seems like a waste of resources I mean when Hendon took on the eurofighter model they knew they were getting a real one sooner or later can’t see the same happening for the F35 for a very very long time if at all.

Although the RAF might not have much use for the VSTOL one they have on order……

In someways, DG202 is one of the most appropriate aircraft for Milestones of Flight – far more significant than the Ki100, and makes an interesting comparison with the 262. Short of dusting down the Whittle from the Science Museum, there is no earlier British jet.

I thought the main reason the Gloster F.9/40 was at Cosford was because it fitted in with the whole prototype jets and cold-war aviation theme, sad that it has gone to Hendon.

And as suspected, the Meteor F9/40 DG202 has also pitched up at Hendon. From one extreme to the other!
