Ramming : tactic for interceptors with PVO and VV S

Did the pilots of Soviet airforces during the cold war ever consider ramming as a tactic to intercept intruders ?
is that effective ?
Did high command ever consider that as a viable option

I heard that was a viable tactics in WW II, but those are with low subsonic fighters, doing the same with supersonic fighters seem too dangerous

This measure can be applied if there are no other methods of interception.
