You want Rapides, fella? You got ’em!
Must say that the ‘dodgy’ formation holding reminded me of pictures of those pre-war Italian Air Force displays with ‘planes all over the shop!

There was something particularly evocative about the views of the three mark V Spitfires and the Me108 parked by the control tower from the raindrop covered window of G-AIDL, before anybody complains about the slightly more modern vehicles creeping into the shots, remember that ‘Legends is a perfect place to stand back, squint a little and employ a little imagination! It was easily the best Duxford show I have ever seen (OK, of about four but they were good ones!), the organisers and everybody involved did a brilliant job! All of the Rapide related fun was the icing on the cake! Roll on next year… (ps. any more Rapide pics out there, these fantastic machines deserve a thread of their own!)

Safely back to a decidedly damp Baginton on Saturday night, sharing the tarmac with a distinguished visitor…

A little hasty pressing the buttons there, here is the post in all of its (due apologies for hopeless point and press digital camerawork 😀 ) glory, some of the pictures have been put into greyscale to add some character and make up for the lack of much colour in the first place…
