Went to Lnagley AFB this Saturday to see their annual air show. Being the first
operational station of the F-22, it isn’t surprising that they had a couple there.
One on static display, and another in the air (plus a few more parked on the
runway in the distance).
Awesome aircraft. The flight demo was very limited. It consisted of only take
off, a vertical climb, and a few circles with an F-4 and the F-15. Pretty cool.
It taxied on the runway, in front of the crowd, then dissapeared for a while. After
a areobatic plane finished it’s routine, the raptor came from nowhere, taking off
right in front of the crowd, and immediatly going into a vertical climb to the
15,000 ft. ceiling(air show limit) – at 30% power.
The thing doesn’t look real – it’s so smooth and clean, it seems like something
superimposed on a screen, from a sci-fi movie.
Also had a B2 flyby – very strange to see in the air.
F-18F & an F-4U corsair flying in formation – that was really cool.
