I am not sure what you guys consider rare, but I think I have found a couple.
A He 162 in flight. I have never seen one before like this.
A Japanese G4M dropping an Ohka Kamikaze.
A Russian LaGG-3 in Japanese colours!
Does anyone have others to share? 🙂

It might be staged with the Ohka, but it’s still impressive. And I do seem to recall footage of the He 162 in flight too, on a German Jets program years ago. I still love these shots!

Although I cannot recall where, I have seen the Lagg picture published in a book somewhere. I think you will find that the Betty/Ohka picture is a staged one using models. I have seen somewhere an entire sequence of shots like the one posted, showing the drop sequence of the Ohka as well as demonstrating other combat maneuvers.

Nice pics GDL. That pic of the Lagg3 in japanese markings is something new to me. Very interesting!
Thanks for posting.

Seem to recall seeing film of a He162 doing a high-speed flypast in some TV prog about jets in WWII a good few years ago. It might have been seen landing too – Nermal
