Rare footage of the Heinkel 111 from the Kent Battle of Britain Museum at Hawkinge, a must watch, along with more presentations over the coming days.

Some terrific footage today from the Kent Battle of Britain Museum at Hawkinge, filmed and described by the Museums curator David Brocklehust MBE,  showing the current progress of the restoration, along with some rare footage inside and out of this iconic aircraft.

I personally can’t wait to see its progress when the Museum re opens for the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

There is also a terrific Facebook page if you want to follow its progress.

Nice video.
The chap behind the camera lives on the premises, so that’s why he is allowed to be there.
There is quite a lot more remaining of this airframe than I imagined. I thought it was just a hulk.
They have a great starting point for what will turn out to be a fantastic display.
Best of luck to them sourcing Jumo engines. That will be very striking!

I thought that no photography or cameras or even mobile phones were allowed in the museum. Or has that changed?  That has put me off going there again?

So is it alright, on this evidence, for me to drive over to work on the restoration of my truck then? I thought we were supposed to stay at home and only leave the house for a limited number of essential purposes.

No worries Wet-Dog I’m glad you enjoyed it, there was another presentation this morning on the WW1 replica aircraft that Manfred Von Richthofen would of flown in at the time of his death, including some actual relics from his aircraft, along with an amazing story in the presentation that I never new.

In the link below.
