Some of you will recall a thread a couple of months ago that I had a letter from Geoff Wellum, saying that he’d read a few of my chapters of my novel and tell me what he thought. Well, I got his reply today…
Dear Darren Cogdon
Thank you for sending me the initial four chapters of your novel.
My first reactions are that your approach to the subject is both novel and entertaining. However your introduction by way of flying models could, I think, be reduced slightly. It seems to go on a bit about Mentors and Gangsters etc., also the foot and mouth crisis and dead animals and so on. I feel it would be beneficial if you could compare your early days of love of aeroplanes and models with the beginning of your second chapter.
These are my reactions to your first four chapters which were compelling reading and I feel that the remainder of your book will continue as such providing you focus on accuracy, which I am sure your research will enable you to do.
Good reading Darren and a very promising beginning.
Good luck and all best wishes for the book’s success.
Yours sincerely
Geoffrey Wellum
Certainly cheered me up no end after a day falling asleep in meetings at work! 😀

At the current going rate – a wee while!!
It’s a bit of a pain having to go back and forth, reworking bits and pieces so that it works, but that’s what it’s all about, isn’t it??
I’m glad Geoff Wellum liked it, so I hope you lot will like it, too! 😀

Daz, that’s great! How long before you finish it?
