BlueNoser352 here :
Greetings to all on this fine forum…. just saw the new WWI FlyBoys and saw in the end credits the name of Ray Hanna and did not realize he worked on this film and they had a tribute to his memory at the end of the film. Good escape film and the computer graphics were outstanding ! Has the film opened in the UK and Europe yet ?
All The Best !

Well they did win WW2 didnt they?
It was the Russians, actually. 😉
Look look, my doughnut’s got a hole.
Perhaps we’d prefer it if everyone went and made films about the Navy.

Dont let the Americans tell you they did it all….

Incidentally, in the interests of international not-picking, I think it looks like the chopper crew were French, making another contribution.
From IMDB credits, after everything else of course, but (I presume) all the pilots, and ‘our Nev’ 😉 Sarah Hanna, plus another couple are credited as noted. Most of the names have been spelled correctly too.
Locations seems a bit short though.

I’m glad the read that a tribute to his memory is included at the end of the film.
Thanks,

The aerial unit were also based at Breighton for a week or so, just prior to the 2005 summer fly-in (a sick ‘Nieuport’ was displayed on the flightline during the event).
There was also some filming carried out at the old base at Watton.

Ray and his company, the Old Flying Machine Company, were the aerial co-ordinators for all the flying sequences, which were carried out in the UK, mainly based at Halton, Bucks.
They shipped in four Nieuport 11 replicas from the ‘States along with a Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter, as well as using UK based aeroplanes as varied as SE 5 and Fokker Triplanes replicas, along with Shuttleworth’s Bleriot and Bristol Fighter.

I think you’ll find that most, if not all of the ‘real’ aerial sequences were shot and filmed in the UK, with Ray Hanna as the Aerial sequence director..
Dont let the Americans tell you they did it all….
