RB-36 in RAF Markings?

Hi,

On page 149 of his book “Force for Freedom” Michael J. F. Bowyer includes the statement

“Aerial reconnaissance, invaluable in uncovering the the antics of the closed socialist societies, was being jointly conducted by Britain and America. Evidence of this was clear ion 1954 and 1955, when at leat four RB-45s and apparantly several RB-36s operated out of Sculthorpe bearing British identity roundels, tail stripes and irrelevant individual identities.

This is partially backed up by Robert Jackson who on page 73 of his book “Strike Force” states

“Some RB-45s carried Royal Air Force markings for a time, presumably to disguise their arrival in England and to delude the potential enemy into thinking they were Canberras, to which they bore a superficial resemblance”

The two books agree on the RB-45s in RAF markings but what about the RB-36s? Does anyone have further information on this?
